Pre-Conference Activities

Hosted by the Elko Convention and Visitors Authority, these activities highlight our host destination through local cuisine, attractions, and western heritage. Click below to learn more about each activity. Attendees may register for only one pre-conference activity, and space is limited. Activities are only available to Rural Roundup attendees.

Please note the scheduled times for each activity, as the Gold Quarry Mine Tour takes place during the pre-conference workshops.

*All activities will be hosted at, or depart from and return to, the Elko Convention Center, with a complimentary shuttle provided. Complimentary shuttle service is also available between the host hotels and the Elko Convention Center.

Gold Quarry Mine Tour | 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. PST

Gold Fever & Handcrafted Heritage: An Afternoon at the California Trail Interpretive Center | 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. PST

A Taste of the Basque Country: Hands-On Cooking Class | 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. PST *Please note, a $50 cash fee will be collected from each participant at the beginning of the class, this is not included in registration. 

Cowboy Arts and Gear Museum | 2:15 -4:15 p.m. PST *Please note, a $5 cash fee will be collected from each participant at the door to help with supplies for the leather making workshop, this is not included in registration.
