Cortney is the Destination Development Manager for Travel Nevada. She grew up in rural West Virginia, but relocated to Dayton, Nevada after receiving her master’s degree from West Virginia University. She has spent the past 17 years exploring her adopted home state.As the Destination Development Manager, she loves working with partners to uplift rural communities through tourism and helping to secure funding to invigorate efforts around tourism, community and economic development. She is excited and inspired by the opportunities Destination Development offers to interact with Nevadans, community leaders, partner agencies, non-profit organizations, and thought leaders from around the state and across the country. In her role at Travel Nevada, she oversees the 3D Project and Special Projects grants, Territory Strategy, and the Rural Tourism Entrepreneurship Program. When she is not working, Cortney’s interests include yoga, gardening, trail running, mountain biking, rockhounding and equestrian pursuits.
